Ship Shape

The Ship Shape Program is the official Navy weight management program designed to help everyone including, active duty; reserve; TRICARE beneficiaries, and government civilians, make behavior changes to lose weight. The eight session program focuses on three essential components for weight loss: nutrition, physical activity, and mindset. Participants start by taking an introductory self-paced online session. Next you’ll attend six in-person group sessions, and conclude the formal portion with a self-paced online session. The goal is to set you up for life-long healthy habits.  At NMRTC Guantanamo Bay, this class is offered three times per year or as requested for groups greater than 6 people. If you’re interested, give us a call today! For more details, check out the Ship Shape Program Information Brief.

Nicotine Cessation

To help you win the battle to quit nicotine products and stay quit, we offer effective quitting and information resources.

Sexual Health and Responsibility Program (SHARP):

Mission: Promote and protect the sexual health of Department of the Navy population in which there is a positive, fair, respectful approach to sexuality, relationships, and reproduction.
Vision: Achieve a cultural norm in which physical and social sexual health are encouraged, supported and expected, in which all pregnancies are planned and sexual violence, sexual coercion and sexually transmitted infections are prevented.
SHARP training is designed to increase the competence and confidence of people who will speak with Sailors, Marines, and family members about sexual health and responsibility. The goal is to provide no-cost training that includes distance learning for educators, instructors and speakers and also specialized training for healthcare providers and counselors.
Sexual health is a state of well-being that involves physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual dimensions, and is based on a positive, equitable, and respectful approach to sexuality, relationships, and reproduction that is free of coercion, fear, discrimination, stigma, shame, and violence.  The resources in this toolbox focus on the prevention of unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.
